Hello! My name is Cheyenne and I am the artist behind Simply Lettered Studio. I have been doing calligraphy since 2016. I have always had an obsession with fonts and handwriting. Once I started my calligraphy journey and I had the proper tools I was immediately hooked. I started with brush lettering and then branched into the more traditional style of pointed pen calligraphy, which is where my true love is. I am a member of IAMPETH and have learned from and studied the work of several master penmen (there are only a handful in the world!) and other esteemed calligraphers. The process of dipping the ink and creating the beautiful flowing lines in a word or phrase will always feel so classic, elegant and satisfying to me. I have included engraving to my services and love the ability to add my lettering permanently to surfaces that the pen and ink can’t get to.

Prior to learning calligraphy I was a full time educator and taught kindergarten. I’ve since used my teaching skills to teach calligraphy courses to in person students and now online as well. It also fuels my passion to create and share tutorials and all the things I’ve learned along my journey. I simply love teaching and helping others learn something new.

Calligraphy is a meditation and joy for me. I love creating. My creating happens after hours, because my number one “job” is a stay at home mom to four adventurous boys. Once my first son once born, I quit my full time teaching career to stay at home. Because I was so used to being busy all the time, just a few short months into staying home I started taking calligraphy commissions.

Besides calligraphy, I love spending time adventuring with my family. My husband and I have been married for 11 years now and currently reside in Utah, enjoying the beautiful outdoors together with our four boys.
